Library

Welcome to the Hickory Point library! We take pride in the fact that the library is located in the center, or heart, of our building. It is a place to celebrate reading, encourage exploration, foster literacy skills, and support lifelong learning.

The goal of the Hickory Point school library is to work in partnership with families and classroom teachers to instill a love of reading in a literacy-rich environment. Throughout their time at Hickory Point, students will learn to value books, develop inquiry skills, and collaborate during shared learning opportunities. They will be encouraged to develop a growth mindset and to become responsible digital citizens. During library lessons, students will be exposed to a wide range of genres and will have opportunities to read and explore for a variety of purposes as they develop important skills and discover their own reading preferences. We are looking forward to working with your children this year to discover magic and find adventures through books.
