  3. Once you click on that, you must choose your child’s name from the drop-down menu, then the report card you wish to view.

Stop, Walk and Talk

Every student and staff member's physical and emotional safety is of the utmost importance to our school. Stop, walk, and talk is a research-based strategy for students to stand up for themselves. Our students learned about this strategy in PE classes this week. We identify critical concerns that are important to our students and staff. This letter aims to talk about the proactive plan we have in place to address conflict. Conflict happens when a person or group wants to have power over another and use their power to get their way at someone else's expense. We are trying to stop this behavior with different tools and techniques that will help us prevent such behavior. Hickory Point has a school-wide Positive Behavior and Intervention System. Stop, Walk, and Talk is a strategy that teaches students how to stand up to behavior they feel is offensive or not wanted. The technique aims to empower students in conflict resolution skills and promote self-advocacy. Students and staff are trained on expectations. We encourage parents to use the same language at home. We want to ensure a strong partnership between school and home to manage this problem. Please talk to your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns.
