Conference Thank You
Thank you for attending parent-teacher conferences this week. Your commitment and involvement toward your child’s success in school are evident. Our teachers worked diligently to ensure that the progress each and every student made was relayed to our families. We feel so lucky to see the spectacular things students do each day and it is our pleasure to share that with you. We appreciate your continued partnership.
Spirit Day Update
Students love dressing up for Spirit Day and it also helps create a sense of community within the building! Another new addition to our spirit day this year is that the students have a choice and voice in which spirit wear gets chosen each month! Students get to vote with their Bulldog Bucks to determine the most preferred gear for Spirit Day! The winner is tallied up on the Thursday before the spirit day. An announcement is made to the students. Additionally, an announcement is posted on the Hickory Point Instagram page and the PTA has partnered with us to post on the Hickory Point PTA Facebook pages. Parking and Driving Around Campus
Please note if you decide to park on Tamarind, please park on the South side of the street only and obey the signage about parking. This will allow for cars and buses to pass safely on the street. Children should enter and exit the vehicles on the sidewalk side only. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
Arrival and Dismissal Safety
We appreciate your support in following our traffic procedures around school. It has been brought to our attention that there are several safety concerns with parents not following the procedures. We have requested support from the Northbrook Police Department to halt these behaviors. Here is a reminder of the process:
- Parents dropping off or picking up by car will enter the school parking lot only from Laburnum (from North of the lot heading South) and follow the designated one-way road around the horseshoe to the designated entrance at Door H.
- Cars may only turn right into the horseshoe and parking lot. No left turn is allowed into the car line from Laburnum or any side streets. You must wait in line on Laburnum to enter the parking lot.
- Students are not allowed to exit cars on Laburnum. Students can only leave the car from the first five cars in the horseshoe (front of the line nearest Door H). This is a safety issue.
We request all parents follow the rules. As the students and parents learn the procedures, arrival, and dismissal will become more safe and efficient. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
