Report Cards
Monday, March 3, began the third and final trimester of the school year. Parents can access the second-trimester report cards electronically via the Parent Portal on Friday, March 14, at noon. Report cards are available electronically upon the conclusion of the first and second trimesters. A printed copy will go home with students on the last day of the third trimester.
For instructions on accessing your child’s report card on Infinite Campus, view this 30-second video. The first section of the video is for Wood Oaks students, and the second section addresses kindergarten through fifth grade
In Summary:
- To access your child’s report card, log into Parent Portal.
- Then, on the left, click “More.” On the new main window, you can now click “Online report cards.”
You must choose your child’s name from the drop-down menu and then the report card you wish to view.
Election Day at Hickory Point on April 1
Hickory Point has been designated a community polling place for the April 1st consolidated election. Please know we will maintain our regular school schedule and arrival/dismissal routines that day. The only change is that voting will occur in our school’s music room, so our music teacher will visit classrooms with a music cart. Voters will be limited to one building entrance through Door D, the door facing the staff parking lot. This is not a student entrance. Students will be separated entirely from the voters. Police will be on-site all day to maintain security which will include ensuring voters do not see or interfere with the normal school schedule.
Erin’s Law
In compliance with IL State law, a program on child sexual abuse awareness and prevention will be presented to all Hickory Point students on March 19, 2025. These presentations will be led by the Hickory Point Social Worker/Counseling Department.
The program is being scheduled in response to Erin’s Law, a State law requiring that all public schools implement a sexual abuse awareness and prevention curriculum for grades K-12. For additional information about Erin’s Law, please visit www.erinslaw.org.
The presentations will cover the following topics:
- Safe touch, unsafe touch, confusing touches
- Healthy/unhealthy relationships and grooming
- Good and bad secrets
- Saying “no” to unwanted touches
- Safety steps and reporting
The presentations are designed to empower and educate children in a developmentally appropriate, child-friendly manner. If you have questions about the presentations or do not wish your child to participate in this program, please email Dr. Deely (deely.m@nb27.org). A confirmation acknowledgment of your request will be sent.
