March 3 - Conferences

The parent-teacher conferences initially scheduled for the evening of February 12 are being held on Monday, March 3, via Zoom. The Zoom links for classroom teachers can be found on each teacher’s landing page in Canvas. Please ensure you can access the page and contact the school office if you need assistance. In many cases, the teachers have back-to-back sessions and will do their very best to stay on schedule. They will let parents into the session at their scheduled times. 

Links to special area teachers (Art, Music, PE, and Library) and specialists can be found in this Zoom list. Please log in two minutes earlier than your scheduled conference.

We believe that communication between the school and home is an invaluable tool in a child’s education and essential in facilitating a successful outcome.

Adventure Campus Registration is open for 2025-2026

Adventure Campus registration is open for the 2025-2026 School Year. The registration information is attached and can also be found on nbparks.org/adventurecampus. 

Report Cards

Monday, March 3, begins the third and final trimester of the school year. Parents can access the second-trimester report cards electronically via the Parent Portal on Friday, March 14, at noon. Report cards are available electronically upon the conclusion of the first and second trimesters. A printed copy will go home with students on the last day of the third trimester. 

For instructions on accessing your child’s report card on Infinite Campus, view this 30-second video. The first section of the video is for Wood Oaks students, and the second section addresses kindergarten through fifth grade

 In Summary: 

1. To access your child’s report card, log into Parent Portal. 
2. Then, on the left, click “More.” On the new main window, you can now click “Online report cards.” 

You will need to choose your child’s name from the drop-down menu and then the report card you wish to view.  

School/Home Bus Partnership

Hickory Point and Northshore Transit work together to ensure all students are safely transported to and from school daily. The bus is an extension of the school day. The expectation is that students use BARRK behavior on the bus. We have implemented initiatives to help positively support safe behavior on the bus. There has been an uptick in unsafe and unkind behaviors. We are asking for your partnership to remind your child about being safe on the bus. This would include staying seated, using an indoor voice, and keeping our bodies to ourselves. We appreciate your ongoing support. 

Second Grade Music Concert

Please join us for our Hickory Point Second  Grade Music Concert on Wednesday, March 5, starting at 6:00 pm. in the gym. Students and parents should plan to arrive at 5:45 pm at Door A. Students will go directly to their second grade classrooms while parents take their seats in the gym.

The second grade students should dress nicely and in something that makes them feel good and comfortable. There is no actual dress code, just something that might make the night memorable for them. They will be standing for the duration of the performance, so you can also keep that in mind.

Yearbook Photos for Clubs

We will work closely with the PTA to coordinate club photos for the yearbook. We will make time during our lunch periods on Monday, February 24, and Wednesday, February 26, to take the club photos. The list below describes which clubs will be photographed on which day. Although we will try to ensure all students are present on the dates listed below, some may not be pictured for various reasons.
