Hickory Point Principal Newsletter-Farewell Second Grade and Report Cards
Farewell
Dear Second Grade Students and Families,
We are saying goodbye to our 2nd grade students. You are an amazing group of students. You are thoughtful, kind, hardworking, and resilient. We will miss you. Mrs. Weingarten and I promise to visit you at Shabonee. We wish you all the best at Shabonee. We hope you come back to visit. Always remember that once you are a Bulldog, you are always a Bulldog.
Final Day of School is June 1
Hickory Point students will attend school on June 1 from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Please make sure to write a note to your child’s teacher if your child has a different going home plan on June 1. Thank you.
Field Day
Tuesday is our annual Field Day. Thank you to Mr. Baker, Mr. Muff, and Mr. Kraft for organizing a day of fun activities outside. Students should wear gym shoes, bring a refillable water bottle, and wear sunscreen. It will be a great day!
K-2 Report Cards Available Online Starting June 1, at 12:00 PM
The final report card will be available to parents in the Parent Portal after 12:00 PM on June 1, and a printed copy will go home with the children. Report cards will be mailed home to parents of children who are not present on the last day of school.
For instructions on accessing your child’s report card via Parent Portal, view this 30-second video. The first section of the video is for Wood Oaks students, and the second section addresses kindergarten through fifth grade.

To access your child’s report, log into Parent Portal.

Then on the left click “More.” On the new main window, you can now click Online report cards.

Once you click on that, you will need to choose your child’s name from the drop-down menu, then the report card you wish to view.
Bus Service for 2023-2024
Dear Parents,
Northbrook School District 27 has opened bus registration for the 2023-2024 school year. If you are interested in this optional service for your child(ren), please complete this registration form by June 30, 2023.
Important Note: No fee payment is required for bus service at this time. We are only asking parents to complete the registration form so that we may work with our service provider, North Shore Transit, to review ridership and establish routes for the upcoming school year. Communication will be sent to parents during the first week in August regarding the payment of student fees, including transportation fees.
If you register for bus service and decide to cancel prior to the first day of school, please contact us at bus@nb27.org. You will not be subject to bus fees if canceling prior to the first day of school.

Please have your child check the lost and found. All items will be donated after school closes.

Please remember to send your child with a water bottle. We have multiple filling stations in the building and it’s important our bulldogs stay hydrated with the warmer weather outside.
