Thank you volunteers!

Dear Hickory Point Parents,

We would like to recognize each parent who volunteered during the school year. Your support and help allows us to continue our excellence. A special thank you to the Executive Board of the PTA for their ongoing support of school initiatives. I was recently asked about how many parents volunteer at Hickory Point.  As I reflected upon the question, I realized it is almost every parent at some point during the school year. Great schools do not happen by chance. Our work together allows us to accomplish great things. On behalf of the entire Hickory Point staff, we recognize and appreciate each and every volunteer. We want to thank you for donating your most valuable resource, your time. For those families who youngest child is leaving Hickory Point, we will certainly miss you and wish you well in the future.

For your children,

Mrs. Deely and Mrs Buchanan

Registration for 2019-2020 (Final posting)

Online Registration will officially open on May 6th at 9:00 A.M. Please take a moment to log into Parent Portal, register your student(s), and pay your registration fees for the 2019-2020 school year.  To register your students, log into Parent Portal, then click Online Registration toward the bottom left. Similar to last year, the process will allow you to verify all student demographic, emergency, and medical information for your child prior to the start of the new school year. The system will also allow you to electronically review and sign the annual forms for school district policies and you may also submit electronic payment for student fees. Registration will close on June 3rd at 4:00 P.M.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact James Phillips at 847-205-4843 or by email

New this year, we will not be requiring families with continued enrollment from the 18-19 school year to upload proof of residency documents this year in Online Registration for the 19-20 school year. Any suspected fraudulent enrollments will be investigated.

Second grade Star testing

Our district has been in extensive communication with the company that delivers the STAR assessments. We have shared a tremendous amount of diagnostic data, which has assisted the company in determining platform issues that were impacting testing. If we believe that the assessments can be administered without interruptions, we will resume testing next week.

Family Fun Night (Second posting)

Save the date for our last Family Fun Night on June 7 at 6pm on the playground. Josh’s Hot Dogs will be available for purchase or bring your own food. Dairy Queen will be provided by the PTA (with a dairy free option). There will be Hi Five Sports, music and fun. Let’s celebrate a great year of learning, growing and friendships. We hope to see you!

Important dates

  • The Office will close at 3:45 pm on Thursday, May 23rd for the District Appreciation event.

  • School is not in session on Monday, May 27th. Have a wonderful long weekend!
