Winter Gear Collection
Youth Services has reached out to the Hickory Point Kind Kids Club to help those in need this winter. We are collecting NEW hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and socks for children and adults though December 5th. Any extra NEW winter gear you can spare for your child to donate is so appreciated! For more information on the mission of Youth Services, please visit www.ysgn.org. Your kindness truly makes a difference!
The Kind Kids Club
Bulldogs Are Respectful, Responsible, and Kind!
Students can participate in our Chip Snack Bag Recycling Collection Program in the lunchroom, November 14 (in honor of America Recycles Day!) through December 14. It’s easy!
What: Students can recycle chip snack bags (including snack-sized, foil-lined chip bags and clear pretzel bags from their lunches.
How: Special bins will be available in the lunchroom to collect emptied chip bags. *Note: Please do not send in extra bags from home. This is a lunchroom-based collection only.
What’s Next: Collected bags will be sent to TerraCycle, where they are cleaned and melted into hard plastic to be molded into new recycled products. What an easy way our kids can help the environment!
Snow play requires snow gear
It is important for students to go outside for 15-20 minutes each day to enjoy fresh air, exercise, and have friendly conversations with classmates. Students should be prepared to go outdoors for recess throughout the fall and winter months! Be sure to send your students to school with jackets, hats, scarves and mittens. Students need to wear snow boots and snow pants to play in the snow. Please help to keep Hickory Point School healthy by encouraging your child to wear appropriate clothes while playing outdoors at recess time. Thanks for your cooperation.
