Dear Hickory Point Parents,

It’s hard to believe we are closing for the year. It was an unprecedented year. We are so proud of our students who persevered through these difficult times. Our last day of school is June 2. Students will meet with their teachers and classmates to say goodbye in a Google Hangout Meeting.  We will be updating you as needed throughout the next few months. We hope you have a wonderful summer.

Mrs. Deely and Mrs. Buchanan

Square One Art

If you still have to pick up your child’s Square 1 Art, please email Aly at Aly.vanderplas@gmail.com with your child’s name, grade level, AND teacher by 10 pm the night before you want to pick it up. It will be on her porch at 915 Dorset Drive by 10 am the next morning to pick up. Please pick it up by June 6th. If there are any problems, contact Aly. Thank you!

Reflex Math Open Through July

Math fact fluency refers to the ability to recall the basic facts in multiplication and division accurately, quickly, and effortlessly.  When children gain automaticity with these facts, they have attained mastery that allows them to recall them without conscious effort or attention. Children who have gained fluency can devote their working memory to problem-solving and learning new concepts and skills. When a child has not gained fluency, it hinders progress with problem-solving as the child is using the working memory to compute the operation instead. To help support your child’s fluency growth, the district has extended the Reflex Math membership through at least July 31, 2020. Your child will be able to log into his/her account even though the school year has ended. As a parent, you can log in using your child’s information to check on his/her progress. This will help to support your child’s transition to the next grade. If your child has difficulty using the program, please feel free to use flashcards or other online resources.

Hickory Point Library Bingo Program - Summer 2020

Happy Summer Bulldogs! It’s time to get started on your summer reading - Champ style!  Our goal with this program is to help motivate our students to continue reading all summer long. Families will receive an email with the Bingo board and more details. Information will also be posted on the District website.
