Welcome back, Bulldogs!

We had a great week with our remote students and second grade hybrid students returning to full-time attendance at Hickory Point. There was a lot of excitement. It was almost like the first day of school. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to end our year all in! We are glad you are here!

Student Attendance(final posting)

Dear Hickory Point Parents,

We are thrilled to have our students fully in person. We expect students to attend school each day for the rest of the year in person. The only reason students can synchronously learn from home is an illness. Please work with us to make sure your child is at school. The habit of regular and faithful attendance is a prerequisite to successful school life. Students should be absent only in cases of illness or emergency. The Board of Education directs the school administration and staff to enforce, consistently, all school regulations relative to school attendance. These regulations require that all absences be verified by phone, by the student’s parent or legal guardian. When a student is ill and unable to attend school, please call the school office that morning (847.498.3830) by 8:30 a.m. to report the absence. If the office staff cannot personally answer the phone call, please leave a message including your child’s name, classroom teacher, and the reason for the absence. We love seeing your child’s smiling face in person at school every day. Please make every effort to minimize absences unless your child is ill.  Thank you.

No Pets on School Property

Due to allergies and health/safety concerns, pets are not allowed in any District 27 school or on school grounds during the school day. This includes arrival, dismissal, and other times when students are present.

Reminders (final posting)

  1. Please remember to send a refillable water bottle with your child each day. The weather is getting warmer, and they need to stay hydrated.

  2. Please do not park in front of the do not park sign on Tamarind. Our buses need to navigate that corner during arrival and dismissal. Thank you.

  3. Parents, please remember to wear a mask on school grounds at arrival and pick up.
